Oh no!

Oh no, oh no, oh no! Although I knew I was going to run out of yarn, a not so small part of me hoped that I wouldn’t; that it would carry on as if imbued with magical qualities. Not so. And of course because I bought the yarn and started the Crochet so long ago, it’s now discontinued. I suspect that’s because it’s got the golden thread running through it, which I’d say is a kind of plastic.

The only thing I could think of earlier was to take a photo and pop it up in my stories on Instagram and Facebook, to see if anyone has a ball tucked away in their stash, which I could buy from them. Please cross fingers and toes for me! It would be really good to be able to finish the full sized Ana Lucia shawl (free pattern on Ravelry, but make sure you’ve got enough yarn!)

I finished a paperback and e-book in the last couple of days and so was delighted to find that the latest Strike book was 99p on Kindle the other day. I’ve also got some audiobook listening hours left on Spotify, so am alternating reading and listening. It’s off to such a good start!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!

    • Thanks Jane.
It’s an option but I would really like to carry on with this yarn as I like the colours and the variations with the golden thread running through it. I’m going to go with some suggestions to try Rav to source a ball, or even part of a ball.

  1. Oh drat… that yarn issue just is the worst! (A tip for a ravelry search. Look up the yarn… that will give you a “tab” at the top for stashes. You can sort the stash by those wanting to “rehome” their yarn. And I have even messaged people with stash and asked them if I could buy a skein or two.)

Good luck with your search! (and I love the Strike series!)

    • Awww thanks! I’m a silly fool really… I need to start picking a pattern and THEN buying the yarn I need, rather than buying a pretty ball of yarn, starting a pattern and then realising how many years down the line that I’m not going to have enough to complete it and it’s discounted. Thanks for your good wishes.

    • Thanks Rachel. It really is, but my own fault really, because once I’d decided and started the pattern I should have called my favourite wool shop and reserved another. No joy with the Ravelry search. I think the Yarn Sub site may be the next thing.
