This photo looks a bit funny somehow; the pot holder looks tiny and the book huge! Actually it is a big ole heavy hardback. Reading it is proving to be a bit of a challenge. I’ve got so used to propping my Kindle against the next pillow and just poking my finger out of the duvet to turn the page. Holding this monster is making my arms ache and they get cold! But I couldn’t turn down this book from my sister-in-law as we both loved Me Before You so much. This is the sequel. I believe Jojo Moyes had so many questions from readers about what happened to Lou, that there was immense pressure to write one. Lou must have been a character who stayed with her too.
Me Before You is the only audio book I’ve finished listening to and immediately started again. Even though I obviously knew all that would happen, I still sobbed so much I had to change my pillowcase at the end of the book. That was one traumatic story.
I finished the pot holder on Monday evening. I wanted another smaller one than these two, although I use them every day I like to have a little one at hand for saucepan lids. I’ll write up the pattern for another post.
I’m joining in again with Ginny’s Yarn Along.
I have heard so many great things about that Me Before You book! But, I’m not sure I can handle the emotions of it! That is the cutest pot holder! I love it :-)
Thank you!
I don’t think I’d heard much about it when I read it, because you’re prepared it might not be as expected?
The texture looks great on the pot holder.

Hopefully it will be just the right thickness to protect my fingers from hot handles. Thank you Karen.
Such a great project…looks like the perfect size!!
Thanks. I’m pleased with it, just writing up the pattern now.
I loved me before you and looking forward to reading this one. The subject is so hard but a reality for many families. Love the pot holder!
Though for some there is no possibility of a way out… it’s a tough subject matter.
Thank you Caroline.
Such a pretty potholder. I’m still at the beginning of Me Before You. I’m almost afraid to continue!
Thank you Donna.
I know…I was the same, but oh there’s some very funny bits too.
Your pot holder is beautiful! Such a great texture!
Thank you Alina.
I just finished Me Before You this past week. I cannot remember the last time a book made me laugh one page and sob my heart out the next. Such a good book. I am excited to read After You!
I’d recommend giving it a few weeks at least between books, just to let the events of the first ‘settle’.
My book group just finished Me Before You…and I chickened out, I guess because I wanted to spare myself some sobbing! I love your pot holder, I can really see the stitches well in the photo.
Thank you. Cotton is so good for giving that definition.
Love the potholder. I really want to read this book — Me Before You was such a terrific read — but I’m a little afraid it won’t measure up! Let us know what you think. :)
Thank you.
I don’t think it can ever be the same sort of intensity, I’m really glad it’s been so long between books so I’m open to whatever happens. So far it’s pretty realistic…
Haha I have to keep my dressing gown on while I’m reading, otherwise I get cold arm syndrome too! I liked Me Before You, not sure whether the movie looks a bit cheesy though… I’d read the sequel anyway :)
I’m never going to watch the film. It just can’t be as good as the book. The Lou actress will doubtless be all Hollywood with white teeth and a glossy mane, not right at all.
I loved Me Before You . . . I’ve been interested in reading the sequel. Beautiful potholder.
Thank you Jill.
You’ll be relieved to know that no tissues are required for “After You”! :)
Shhh! No spoilers…
Lovely pothole. I hear such good things about these books, I must get to them!
