I only called Deramores yesterday lunchtime and here’s the new order!
I hadn’t mentioned that I bought another stash of the multi-pack last week, the second of the year already! I’m now the yarn Queen of the South.
Here’s the original lot. I really do recommend Deramores; superb service and fast delivery. Plus Stylecraft Special DK is £1.79 at the moment. It’s soft and nice to work with, no it’s not wool but it’s not bad at all for 100% acrylic.
I tried out a new pattern I’d seen online. This will be my Spring Flower blanket eventually. I used up oddments from the wave patttern I tried (below) but disliked after I compared it to Lucy’s ripple pattern. I hate waste and so every scrap turns into something else.
I’ve enjoyed trying out my new cream to edge the Alternative Granny Squares. It seems soothing after all the brightness!
Did you know I’m a leftie by the way? If you’re new and want a leftie recommendation of a great ‘learn to crochet book’ then click on the books! link to the right >>>>> it’s called Crochet Unravelled and has diagrams for lefties and those odd rights ;-p I still look at it sometimes when a bit befuddled.
Hmmm, well this my plan ahead for Easter project which hasn’t happened since there’s a lack of fun in the making. Fiddly. Squeaky horrid cheapo yarn. But it might still get completed since:
a) I hate not finishing something, even if I dislike it. (Mum’s the same I once bought us both a lovely tin of what turned out to be horrid sweets. Owning the lovely tin was the object though we both ate the horrid sweets; because it’s not good to throw things away or waste them. S thinks us both to be nutters. Obviously he’s wrong.)
b) It’s VERY cute when completed
c) I don’t like failing.
Away for trip #1 and trip #2 from tomorrow, I’ll share some pics on my return. :-D
Have a lovely Easter.
You really are Yarn Queen of the South lol! I’m mainly making eggs still. Not done blanket for ages… giving poorly elbow a rest. Plus it’s nearly Easter. Won’t be doing eggs after. Enjoy your trips and make sure there is more wine ;)
Never ever run out of wine! It’s against house-law ;-p
Enjoy your eggs and hope the elbow gets better soon, if not try acupuncture, it worked for mine (plus rest; though that’s the dull part…)
Wow you have so many projects going on! You must be a really fast crocheter. So what are you gonna do with all the cream, green, and pink?
The cream and green are for the two different small granny squares edging, the pink was just to make up the price for free postage and because I liked it. It will definitely be used for something.
I have to make another rainbow granny stripe when the current one is finished, though I have until August for the first, and December to finish the second, so will need plenty of yarn for those.
Oh, and PS, I’m a leftie too!
:-D
All the best people are Erin.
:)
I’m also making eggs, Kate from Greedy for Colour has a nice easy pattern, my alternative granny squares are aside for a few hours. I’m using some nasty acrylic I got from a dollar store, it has some nice colours but it’s hard on the fingers, stiff yarn that I don’t enjoy using.
I saw those, very nice eggs!
Well then throw it or put it in a charity shop and get something nice! Life is short and crochet should be fun. :-D
Oh I use it for making things like eggs, it keeps it’s form well even if it feels like carpet to crochet with ;-) The eggs are quick to make, I’ve done two and a half since the kids went to school so soon I shall be done with the nasty feeling yarn.
Hurray! :-D
