Over the bank holiday weekend we’ve been to the south coast to enjoy some Jubilee celebrations and see the sea. I love days at the seaside; it’s one of my all-time favourite things to do (as you might already have guessed?!)
Everywhere we went people were wearing a combination of red, white and blue, flags fluttered from houses, boats, cars and buildings and when we popped in to the Tesco superstore they were playing music from the Coronation! The atmosphere has been fantastic and there is a real buzz this Jubilee bank holiday weekend which I’m sure will continue for the Olympics.
Here are some photos taken on Saturday in Portsmouth including at the Historic Dockyard where there were two stages set up, one acoustic the other not, and lots of stalls selling craft and vintage clothing. I love the Spinnaker Tower; it looks perfect and gives you excellent views from the viewing decks. I’d also recommend Gunwharf Quays for fab shopping (slippers, towels and a new bath mat…designer labels shopper par excellence I am not!)
We were soooo lucky with the weather all weekend; we’ve come home to inches of water in the plant pots. It’s still the bank holiday today, it’s great having 4 days off together.
I’ll post some seasidey photos tomorrow….
Hope you’ve had fun this Jubilee weekend too! :-)
Looks like you had a lovely time. We had some seaside fun too at Grandma Patch’s. Home again now though… and it’s raining… and it’s half term :(
Looks like great fun!
Lovely photos!
Did you go and see Dodgy play? I used to be mates with them!
